  • Draw a sketch of a gift you received overt the holidays. On the same page as your sketch, write 5 objective statements about the gift and 5 subjective statements about the gift.

  • Begin Reading Log (We will check it next week.)

Wednesday (1/6)

  • Choose a current article of interest to you from Newsela. Print the article. Close read the article and take notes on important ideas.
  • Think about the article in terms of information and respond to the following questions. 1. What about the article is objectively written? (Provide examples) 2. Are there parts of the article that are subjective?(What makes you say this?-Provide examples.) 3. Do you think the writer showed bias? (Explain.)

Thursday (1/7)

  • Keep a list of types of information you encounter tonight on television, your computer, while driving, etc. Label your list with three columns: Objective, Combination(Both subjective and objective, Subjective and/or Biased

  • Progress Check Quiz tomorrow: 10 questions (identifying objective, subjective, and biased information.)
